On the council tax, we say they should only be allowed to raise it every three years and then only at cost of living rate, but that is another campaign.

At last the government has ordered an inquiry into claims that speed cameras actually cause accidents. It will of course be a white wash as there is no way they will give up the £250 million they get in fines. they see that motorists slow down when they come near one and speed up when they pass it. The problem has always been that cars behind those spotting the camera have to break suddenly as those in front apply their brakes, if the camera was not there no one would have to slam their brakes on and no accidents would occur, seems sensible.

If everyone went to court instead of paying the fines and used the 159mph excuse, "what's good for the goose is good for the gander", it would backup the courts for years and they would have to do something about it.
6000 policemen were let off for speeding offences last year, there were 31 deaths and 2000 causualties caused by police drivers, where is the justice in this country? If this persecution of motorists by the police and councils does not stop then we will have to vote out the councillors and sack the police chiefs, or get our own police force that will concentrate on robbers and crooks rather than the soft option.
